Striking Tricky Deals
We make deals all the time. We make deals about how much we will eat one day, and then deals about how much we will exercise to burn off anything that we should not have eaten. Have you heard about law of attraction? Making those kind of deals can be very tricky on your mind. We make deals with business clients, and we make deals with friends and family. But all the while, we are also making deals with ourselves about what we can do and what we do not want to do. Also known as boundaries, we can often feel trapped in our own limitations. We can feel uninspired and perhaps even unmotivated.
Napoleon Hill
The grandfather of The Law Of Attraction was Napoleon Hill. He mastered the concept and showed thousands of people how to battle with those decision making processes. In his book: Think And Grow Rich, he gives you many tools to use for everyday issues and motivating yourself.
Motivating Tools
There are however, there are ways to turn your deals into motivating tools. For those people who have troubles getting starting on certain tasks, making deals can help you get over the initial hump of these mundane tasks. Tell yourself that you will spend 10 minutes doing whatever it is that you abhor doing. And at the end of those 10 minutes, you can stop and move onto something else. Sometimes, this is all it takes to push through and finish that task that you did not want to do.
Reward Yourself
If rewards get you excited about doing things, they promise yourself a small reward when you finish a certain task. This will help you push through something difficult but only if you truly do not reward yourself until after the actual task is done. And you also do not want to get into the habit of needing a reward each time, so make sure the reward fits the task at hand. Smaller rewards for smaller tasks, that is.
In addition, you might want to make a deal with yourself about how quickly you can get something done. For those who thrive on competition, this is a strong motivator. You want to break your record for the time you have, so many people will actually become more efficient as a result.
